— Defensive back Coryell Judie may be able to play Saturday against Missouri. Coach Mike Sherman said Judie, who has been nursing a tender hamstring, should be able to return to practice this week.
Defensive lineman Tony Jerod-Eddie also is hobbled. He has a sprained ankle, which kept him out of about half of A&M's win last Saturday over Iowa State.
Judie missed the Cyclones game. He's had bad luck with sprains, tears and sprains. His shoulders had been bothering him the most.
He also was considered the Aggies' top return man on kickoffs. And A&M has been struggling in this area all season.
Sherman said he's opening up the competition for return man this week.
Cyrus Gray and Ben Malena had been the latest return duo. But look for Steven Campbell, Nate Askew, Lionel Smith, Malcome Kennedy and Kenric McNeal to get a look.
Tannehill semifinalist for O'Brien
Ryan Tannehill has made the semifinal cut for the Davey O'Brien award, which is presented to the nation's top quarterback.
And it's safe to say that the O'Brien award may serve as a tiebreaker and actually decide which quarterback earns first-team All-Big 12 Conference. Same goes for who might be second-team and honorable-mention.
Five of the 16 semifinalists are from conference schools. So half of the league's starting quarterbacks made the cut. The other four are Oklahoma's Landry Jones, Oklahoma State's Brandon Weeden, Baylor's Robert Griffin and Texas Tech's Seth Doege.
Tannehill also is a finalist for the Unitas Golden Arm trophy, which is awarded to the nation's top quarterback who is at least a third-year junior in eligibility.
Later this week, Tannehill will learn whether he made the final cut for the Campbell Trophy, which is considered the academic Heisman.
No kickoff time yet for Aggies-OU
The Aggies won't know until early next week what time they'll be playing Oklahoma on Nov. 5.
The game at Norman, Okla., will kick off at either 2:30 or 7 p.m. and be broadcast by ABC/ESPN. The network used a six-day window on Monday to wait and see what both teams do this Saturday.
A&M plays Missouri at Kyle Field on Saturday with an 11 a.m. kickoff. It's the third late-morning start for the Aggies this month. Undefeated Kansas State plays host to Oklahoma Saturday afternoon.
